The driving force behind ESC is Larry LaFreniere. He has been working hard to make ESC a thriving organization that lives up to its “go the extra mile” battlecry since taking the helm in 1997. A homegrown veteran of the electrical supply industry, Larry has brought together a team of passionate, like-minded people who strive daily to help our customers be more competitive. Here are just a few of them:
Executive Vice President
Doug Walo joined ESC in September of 2017 as Executive Vice President with 31 years of industry experience. Doug not only oversees the management team, but is also focused on managing all sales and operational activities, while working to develop and implement the company’s goals and growth strategies. Prior to joining ESC, Doug served as president of two west coast electrical distributors under the Sonepar Group.
Vice President of Project Sales
John Murch began his career at ESC in 1988 at the age of 15. Upon graduating high school, John took a leave of absence to join the USNR and returned years later to work at ESC throughout college and eventually was promoted to Showroom Manager at 20 years old. Four years later he moved into a position estimating switchgear and then in 1999 was promoted to Branch Manager. John is now the Director of Project Sales for ESC, where he oversees hundreds of jobs big and small.
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
During high school Bob began his career in electrical distribution through a school work-study program at Morris Electric Supply where he continued to work after graduation. In 1996 he joined Rexel/CLS and worked his way up taking on jobs such as Warehouse Assistant, Counter/Inside Sales, Branch Manager and most recently Regional Sales Manager. Bob joined ESC in June of 2013 as Director of Sales and Marketing where he will oversee the sales and marketing efforts for all ESC locations.
Vice President of Supply Chain
Jim joined ESC in August of 2015 as Director of Supply Chain, where he is responsible for overseeing all ESC operations and purchasing across the company’s five Bay State locations. Considered one of the best in the industry, Jim is verse in analytics, profit and loss, stream lining efficiencies and resource management. Always looking for a better way, Jim’s team has already significantly driven cost per line picked down.
Manager of Purchasing
Steve McCarthy entered the electrical industry after graduating from the Shawsheen Tech in Billerica MA. Steve’s first job at 18 was here at the Cambridge St. location of Electric Supply Center as a truck driver. Steve was also at Independent Electric Supply where he worked for 10 years in Sales and Operations before moving over to Purchasing manager and finished as an Inventory Planner at Rexel. After just under 13 years at Rexel, Steve rejoined the ESC team in 2011 as Operations Manager and has now taken on the role of Manager of Purchasing.
