Company History
Larry LaFreniere purchased Electric Supply Center (ESC) in August 1997. At that time, the company employed nine people, and was going through a difficult time. Vendors were weary of the future of ESC; something had to be done quickly. While ESC had a few key employees, its logistics and material handling needed an overhaul. Larry took a hard and long look at ESC and could see the capabilities and opportunities that were not apparent to others in the trade. Larry had a vision. Against these daunting challenges, he and the company launched a recovery plan that focused on solving the company's deficiencies and implementing strategies for long-term growth.
Over the next few years, Electric Supply Center fought its way back from the brink of disaster, always following Larry's motto "Our job is to make your job easier!". Nine years and two moves later, our Burlington operation is now located in a 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, with numerous trained employees, a fleet of delivery trucks, and millions in inventory. The Wakefield location offers 8,000 square feet of storage, fully qualified staff, and manages millions in inventory yearly. Both Burlington and Wakefield warehouses utilize today's cutting edge RF bar-coding technology and an advanced bin-location warehousing program to ensure our customers receive the correct material. In 2006, ESC invested in a new computer system which utilizes the latest technology for accounting and warehousing. In 2007 we launched a state of the art on line order entry system. With GPS technology within our fleet of trucks, we strive to always deliver the correct material where and when you need it.
Still independently owned and operated, ESC continues to invest in resources to improve our customer service and satisfaction.
At Electric Supply Center, we look forward to earning your business everyday.
