Electric Supply Center (ESC) was recently feted with an AD Leaderboard Performance Award for US Member of the Year, Performance – Over $10 million, at the Affiliated Distributors Spirit of Independence Awards, held October 1st at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.

This award symbolizes that ESC had the highest margin of growth for any AD distributor that has over $10 million in AD purchase throughout the year in the United States.

In his acceptance speech, ESC CEO Larry LaFreniere thanked his company team as well as several vendors who have stood by the Massachusetts-based company over the years as it shifted from near-obscurity to serving as an independently-owned model of efficiency across five Bay State locations.

“On behalf of the entire team at ESC, I proudly say ‘I am because we are’ as each of our guys has done a terrific job helping us flourish over the years,” LaFreniere said.

Everyone at ESC would like to thank all of the customers and vendors who joined us at the ESC Woburn Grand Opening on Wednesday, September 16^th!

Hosting hundreds of customers throughout the evening and more than 26 vendors on display, the Grand Opening served as a trade show, selling show and customers were able to tour the facility.

Raffle prizes were given out at the end of the evening, which included tickets to various Bruins games, Winter Classic Tickets, Grills, a signed Bruins Jersey and the biggest prizes of the night were $5,000 and $10,000 in ESC Credit, which was awarded to two lucky ESC customers!

Located at 205 Wildwood Ave., the Woburn CDC boasts a sales counter, which carries the largest electrical inventory on the North Shore, making the CDC ESC’s hub of all delivery orders, receiving, and will call. While all other branches of ESC will remain fully functioning, the CDC allows for a larger array of product and the ability to serve many more customers.

ESC is pleased to announce the addition of Jim Crabtree as the company’s new Director of Supply Chain.

As Director of Supply Chain, Crabtree will be responsible for overseeing all ESC operations and purchasing across the company’s five Bay State locations.

Crabtree previously worked as Vice President of Supply Chain Management for US Electrical Services Inc. in Middletown, Conn. where he oversaw Supply Chain Management from Procurement to Customer receipt and managed Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) conversions within the company Supply Chain for eight regions, ultimately bringing new processes and increasing service to customers.

“Jim is considered the best in the industry when it comes to operations,” said ESC President Larry LaFreniere. “Early on, we always followed the motto, ‘Do what you say you are going to do.’ As we grew, this motto became more challenging to follow, yet twice as important. Jim will be instrumental in developing our next levels of service for our clients, especially ‘Directs through Stock’ for our larger projects, as operations and sales work closely to create solutions at ESC.”

Throughout his career, Crabtree has provided dynamic leadership on divisional and corporate scope projects, while serving as a significant decision-maker with internal senior management, external customers, and strategic partners.

“We are impressed with Jim’s level of professionalism and know he will be a welcome addition to the team at ESC,” says LaFreniere.
